The 2019 Clone 777 Pinot Noir is playful initially with bright acidity but with a dark, brooding finish.

The wine is rich with perfumed black cherry, sweet vanilla cola, spicy clove, salted plum and warm toasted almond. Playful initially but with a dark, brooding finish. 

Bright, brambly raspberry, ripe red plum, earthy graphite, toasted graham cracker and a hint of iris greet the nose.

Varietal Composition 100% Pinot Noir

A notoriously challenging variety, Pinot Noir thrives in the Carneros region, with its cooler temperatures and foggy, wind-swept slopes. The climate here helps to maintain the aromatic complexity and bright acidity of the grape while flavor development advances. The character of Dijon Clone 777 is more dependent on specific growing site than is the case with some other Pinot Noir clones. The fruit for this year’s Clone 777 bottling came from two of our top growers in Napa Carneros which present an elegant but powerful take on this lovely clone.
