As one of the oldest wineries in Sonoma County, SIMI made its first wine in 1876 and has been continuously making wine in the same stone cellar in Healdsburg, California since 1890. As we have from the beginning, our wines reflect Sonoma County. From the foggy Sonoma coast, to the cool Carneros to the south, and the warm Dry Creek and Alexander Valleys nearby, SIMI harvests grapes from the best of Sonoma County. SIMI was long known for their Cabernets and Chardonnays, but today, this historic winery produces Merlots, Malbecs, Pinot Noirs and celebrations of varietals from single blocks in our esteemed vineyards. This addition to your collection will reflect the diverse region of Sonoma County.
The mountains, valleys, and coasts of Sonoma make it an exceptional region for growing wine. Across the diverse landscape, the grapes are exposed to dry sun, morning fog, and a cool coastal breeze. These microclimates make it a large, top growing appellation, capable of producing some of the world’s finest wines.
